8/31/2023 0 Comments Tripadvisor riviera maya resorts![]() We stayed in the Enclave building - Casa 1. You can also book a private car - not sure how much that costs. There are shuttles available, too, but some people we met at the resort had a three hour ride with multiple stops since the resort is south of most other resorts. Only challenging part is that the primary mission of most of the rental car companies in Cancun is to screw you over, but that’s a topic for another review. The location is about a 75 minute drive south of the Cancun airport - I rented a car, and the drive was quite easy. Great bed, nice shower, nice patio, good views. A few things to consider - some good, some with room for improvement: The resort is new, and our room was very nice. While we enjoyed our holiday and the resort has some nice features, we will probably not return here - when compared to some other similar resorts (this review is a relative review), it wasn't our favorite. Stayed here for six nights in June 2023 with my family - two rooms in the Enclave building with a view over the water. This resort made me don’t want to come back to Cancun ever again. I can go on and on with more details of our horrible experience at this hotel. One day they came in to make our room and just took our derty towels and did not give us clean towels so I tried to call guess service and they never answer the phone. If you ask for drinks be ready to wait forever. It looks like they are understaffed because every time we went to try to get ice cream the line was super long. The specialty restaurants are just for dinner and you have to make reservation and the food is just OK. One of the days we went to eat lunch and there was a huge line to get food so we just gave up and couldn’t eat lunch that day. There is only one buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and it does not have a big selection of food. This resort is the worst resort I have ever stayed in. My family and I just came back from a family vacation at the Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya hotel. Overall a good resort but don’t expect a 5 star experience, but decent resort for the price.I have been coming to the Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Riviera Maya area for the last 15 years 3 times a year at least and this is the first time I write a review because I feel it necessary. They did have entertainment nightly which my friend and I weren’t interested in but my son found it fun. So it was a but gross walking down the halls seeing the dirty plates, plus the birds were eating off the plates in the hallway. ![]() Then when you finish you leave the plates outside your door but they were not quick at picking up. Room service menu was ok- nothing great. Buffet- we only tried it on the day we arrived and we were not impressed. They came by and said they’d be back in 5 min but never returned. Fridge in our room didn’t work, had to contact maintenance for a replacement (they did fairly quickly). The Not So Good: - Check-in process was long even though we arrived around 3:30 pm. Housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning our room. The coffee shop was great, in the afternoon they offered ice cream. You need to make reservations before you arrive as they only have 1 seating and limit the seating to around 20 people. The fancy multi-course French restaurant was good (very small courses). The Mexican restaurant was ok, wasn’t that great. The Italian restaurant had very good food. The Rodeo Grill had great good! We had dinner here twice. ![]() The resort is fairly small so it was easy to get around. My son is 11 and it was a great resort where he could go off and do his thing and meet up with me at a scheduled time. The adults only pool was great, never had a problem getting the cabana chairs. Ricky is one of the pool concierge and was great at refreshing our pool towels and bringing ice cold washcloths that smell wonderful to help you cool down. ![]() They don’t checkout the towels based on your room. The Good: - The beds were super comfortable with great pillows - Nice large towels for the room and at the pool - At the pool you can get as many towels as you need.
